ARTIST WALK & TALK: With Peter Usher

Join us in the gallery for a special afternoon with acclaimed Australian artist Peter Usher, as he leads an intimate walk and talk through his solo exhibition Equilibrium.

Peter’s work is rooted in his lifelong fascination with the Australian landscape — not as a literal subject, but as a living, breathing presence that holds emotion, memory and balance. His paintings are less about depicting what he sees and more about expressing what he feels when he encounters a place.

Through careful observation and intuitive mark-making, Peter captures the shifting interplay between light, form and atmosphere — offering audiences a new way of experiencing the familiar. Each canvas becomes a meditation on the human connection to land and the quiet equilibrium found within it.

During this informal session, Peter will share insights into his creative process, his ongoing exploration of the Australian landscape, and how emotion and instinct guide his hand more than representation ever could.
